Stability AI Partners with Iconic Artist Peter Gabriel to Launch Series of AI Animation Challenges titled #DiffuseTogether

We are so excited to share the updated version of the competition!
Many of you have raised some questions about the T&Cs. We’ve been working our socks off to make this contest the bee’s knees, and we’ve listened to you, our beloved communities. That’s why we’ve extended the deadline and beefed up the prizes with our guarantees!
🚨 So here is the scoop:
Challenge start 18th April 2023
Submissions close on 26th May 2023 at 7 pm BST, and the judging process begins.
Anyone can enter the event for free, but you must be at least 18 years old.
The judging criteria include originality, creativity, storytelling, technical proficiency, and artistic vision. Peter Gabriel will lead the judging panel along with Stable Foundation and guest judges Claire Silver & Sagans.
Final Animation/Video entries must be the submitter's original work, and all necessary rights and permissions must be obtained.
Two entries max per person.
Collaborations are encouraged
The length of the animation video should be no less than 2 minutes. You WILL have the opportunity to craft, finesse and finetune your submission should it be in the top 10 finalists.
Entries must be in the form of an animated video set to one of Peter Gabriel’s preselected songs; you must incorporate Stable Diffusion into your workflow and are encouraged to use any and all 3D/animation tools but not limited to our Stability for Blender addon, WarpFusion, Kaiber, Stable Animation SDK, Blender and Deforum.
🎞️ Format:
All aspect ratios are welcome. MP4 is the best video format for most socials. 16:9, 1.1, with H.264 as the preferred video codec.

🏆 Prizes:
1st Place - Winning Contributor gets a cash prize of $1500 from Stability AI + 5000 in API credits + a Ticket to Peter’s show during the I/O tour
2nd Place - $500 + 2000 API Credits
3rd Place - $250 + 1000 API Credits
Plus, an additional Ten Thousand Dollars (10,000 USD) commission from RWP to selected finalists.
📺 Winner Announcement:
The top 10 entries will be announced live on Twitch with Peter Gabriel and guest judges on Full Moon Sunday, 4th of June.
Winners and finalists will be contacted by the Organisers the week before the finale stream to collect their prizes and secure a separate license agreement upon accepting the terms & conditions of the competition.

Six-time Grammy winner invites AI animators to experiment with the latest tracks and select classics using AI.
Stability AI, the world’s leading open-source artificial intelligence company, and music legend Peter Gabriel announce the debut of its Stability AI DiffuseTogether Challenge. This groundbreaking initiative combines the power of generative AI imaging with the talents of a Rock & Roll Hall-of-Famer and is the first in a series of AI animation challenges that will feature other popular musicians from different genres.
The contest, which launches at 9 am EST / 2 pm BST today via Discord, invites participants to submit one animated AI-generated video inspired by and set to the music of Peter Gabriel. The videos will incorporate Stability AI’s technology through Stable Diffusion, its industry-leading open source suite of imaging models, as well applications like DreamStudio (photorealistic imaging), Stability for Blender (3D), and AnimAI (animation).
“These powerful, transformative AI tools are for the first time within reach of all of us. We have the chance to weave new realities together from the threads of our own imagination and creativity,” said Peter Gabriel. “I’ve built my world out of sound and I’m now asking the visual artist community to create its own uncharted audio-visual dreamscapes with a carpet of my music. With your creativity and experiences, along with the transmutational power of Stable Diffusion, we can generate all manner of extraordinary and curious new adventures. Let’s use the light of the full moon and get this vessel underway.”
Participants can select one of six songs Peter Gabriel chose for submission, including classics like Sledgehammer and several tracks from his upcoming album i/o.
The top three winners will receive cash prizes and tickets to Peter Gabriel’s upcoming i/o tour. Entries will be judged by an All-Star panel of musicians, including Peter Gabriel, and winners will be announced on May 5 live on Stability AI’s Twitch channel.

About Peter Gabriel
Peter Gabriel is best known as a musician. He started his solo work in 1975 after leaving his old school group, Genesis. He has released eleven studio albums, including film soundtracks for Alan Parker’s ‘Birdy,’ Martin Scorsese’s ‘The Last Temptation of Christ,’ Philip Noyce’s ‘Rabbit Proof Fence,’ and numerous live albums.
